The Henniker Farmers’ Market is a volunteer organization that was formed in early 2003 to research the idea of setting up a farmers’ market in our town. After researching similar markets, meeting with the Henniker’s town administrator, contacting the Agriculture Department of the State of New Hampshire and locating an appropriate site for the market, we concluded that such a market would be a viable and beneficial community project. The market will offer fresh and local produce, fresh cut and dried flowers, dairy and meat products, maple syrup, honey and local handmade crafts. The market will be held in the park in front of the old Masonic Hall on Main Street. Hours of operation in 2006 will be Wednesdays from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, July 5 through October 11.

The purpose of this organization is to provide for orderly operation of the Henniker Farmers' Market. The spirit and intention of the Henniker Farmers’ Market is to provide an open venue for community enjoyment, an opportunity for vendors and consumers to buy and sell in an amicable exchange and to support local farmers and thereby support small farm preservation.

It is our intention to create a solid foundation for a community farmers’ market that will be maintained for many summers to come. Our vision is that the Henniker Farmers’ Market will become a valued and regular community event which will support small family farming, provide community members with the best local products, reinforce the importance of buying locally and further strengthen our community ties.
